How offroadtbilisi.com Was Built: Our Digital Partnership with Digital Studio

In the off-road buggy business, everything comes down to a single question: can a guest book a tour at the exact moment they decide they want one? That moment is usually eleven at night, in a hotel room, on a phone screen. This is why we did not want offroadtbilisi.com to be just a business card on the internet. The site, and our whole digital side, was built in collaboration with Digital Studio.

Why a social media page was not enough

Social media builds trust, but it does not close a booking. An Instagram page shows beautifully what a tour looks like, yet the guest still has to send a message, wait for a reply and ask about the price. We were losing exactly the people who had already made up their minds.

Our own site shortens that path. For us, Website Development meant one place where the tour description, the price, the available times and the payment are no longer separated from one another.

Online booking and card payments

The booking system was the priority of the entire project. A guest picks the tour, the date, the start time and the group size, and the system works out how many buggies are needed and what the whole thing costs. Nobody has to wait to find out a price.

Payment is made by card on a secure page, before the booking is confirmed. For us this is not only about convenience: paying upfront cuts no-shows and lets us plan buggies and instructors around real groups.

We paid separate attention to what happens after the payment. The guest gets a booking reference, and we get a notification that a new group has come in. Nothing gets lost in a message thread any more.

Bilingual from the start

Most of our guests are visitors from abroad, so the Georgian and English versions were planned together rather than one being bolted on later. This is not machine translation: the text is written separately in each language, each version has its own address, and search engines can tell which version to show to whom.

In practice this means a guest goes through the whole journey in their own language, from the tour description to the booking form, the terms and the payment confirmation. When someone hits a foreign language at the final step, that is precisely where they stop. So for us being bilingual is not a design detail, it is a question of how many bookings we take.

Being found on Google

For a tourism business, search is the most durable channel there is, because it keeps working after the season ends. SEO Optimization went into the project from day one: heading structure, page speed, structured data, and a blog where we write about routes and safety.

The logic is simple. Someone typing buggy tour in Tbilisi is already close to booking. Our job is to be in front of them at that exact moment.

Advertising and social channels

Search pays off over time, while advertising works immediately. Soc. Media Advertising helps us reach tourists who are in Tbilisi right now during the season, and the site turns those visitors into bookings.

On their own, each of these is weak. That is why we needed one joined-up approach, the kind called Digital Marketing: site, search, advertising and analytics running as one system rather than as a set of separate services.

What we would tell a similar business

If you run a tourism or service business, start with one question: what happens after someone taps your ad? If the answer is "send us a DM", you are quietly losing part of your bookings every single day.

In our experience the biggest gain came not from the visuals but from the sequence: the guest should see a price, choose a time and pay without stopping anywhere to ask a question. Everything else, design included, exists to serve that sequence.

Today offroadtbilisi.com is part of how the business runs, not a shop window for it. If you want your own site to do that work rather than just look good, get in touch with Digital Studio.
